The Firm Successfully Defends Against OPMC Claims
The New York State Department of Health’s Office of Professional Medical Conduct (OPMC) is responsible for investigating allegations of professional misconduct by health care professionals. We are privileged to help physicians defend against these investigations, which are often ill-informed and overreaching. Recently, we were asked to defend an Internist against charges filed by a former patient alleging a lack of responsiveness and improper treatment. After conducting our own investigation and research, we were successful in having OPMC drop all its claims against our physician-client and dismiss the case as unfounded. We are delighted to have had the OPMC matter closed without any adverse finding against the physician. Jim Denlea and Michael Wright handled the matter.
