Steven has 30-plus years of experience handling complex commercial and bankruptcy litigation, and is a trusted advisor to his clients. Steve has advocated for clients in state and federal courts and in mediation and arbitration across the United States. He also has represented debtors, trustees, and creditors’ committees as special litigation counsel and represented creditors and other parties in the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts (Chapters 7 and 11 and adversary proceedings). Steve has counseled clients on a wide range of transactional, litigation, and risk-management matters, and negotiated and documented numerous transactions, with the eye of a seasoned litigator. Steve also has authored and published many articles on the practice of law, and lectured and presented at numerous conferences and continuing legal education programs. He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Corporate Counsel Section of the New York State Bar Association, the American Arbitration Association National Roster of Arbitrators, and as an Arbitrator and Mediator for the Joint Committee on Fee Disputes and Conciliation.
Steve graduated from Princeton University summa cum laude and from New York University School of Law. He lives in Ardsley, New York, with his wife, Jill, who is a law professor. One of his sons develops software for quantum computers (which is as complex as it sounds), and the other son attends college at Cornell University.
