Physician Prevails In OPMC Proceeding
We recently represented an infectious disease specialist in an investigation conducted by the Office of Professional Medical Conduct (“OPMC”) who was accused of mismanaging a patient’s treatment for osteomyelitis. Osteomyelitis is an infection of bone that can cause widespread destruction if not properly treated. The patient contended that his treatment was improper, based on the duration and dosage of his antibiotics. After a careful review of the file, we prepared the client to defend the propriety of his care and we prevailed; OPMC concluded that no adverse action would be taken against the doctor and closed its investigation.
